Beardy Creek Rest Area

The Beardy Creek rest area is about 8 clicks north of Glen Innes. On this trip to Brisbane with Charlie, Mick and Kurt we arrived here about 2:30am and whilst it was summer, there was a gale blowing with sleet and almost zero temperatures. The boys had to pitch the tent in the wild weather and we had a very noisy night as the freak storm blew across the Great Divide.

This is normally a very quiet and pleasant spot for an overnight and there are often several big RVs parked for the night. It's right beside the Beardy Creek and the scenery on waking is magnificent.
